Our guests from St Austel breweries
On the marketing side, we have been very busy. Rupert St Aubyn and Simon Leschallas of Southern Wines (our British importers) were out for their annual visit. They arranged some excellent meetings and tastings and a memorable braai with Sheperd Neame and St Austel breweries, both very good customers. We also paid Johannesburg and Durban a visit for our agent’s trade shows and we received great feedback form all our customers.
Having some laughs at Coobs
I presented a food and wine dinner at The Chefs Table in Umhlanga, Jane has been doing a myriad of tastings across the Western Cape, and Mariaan made sure that everything ran smoothly when we welcomed the Wine Explorers wine club to the farm. If you’d like to bring your wine club to the farm or if you want us to present a wine dinner, please get in touch with us on [email protected]
Minch and Bernard on their wedding day
When Minch and Bernard walked into Vondeling on 16 February telling us they’d like to get married on 24 February, we thought they meant 2019. No-no, they meant the next Saturday – a week ahead! The couple live in Abu Dhabi – Minch is originally for the Philippines and Bernard from Paarl. They decided, before coming to South Africa for their annual holiday, that they want to tie the knot. So Minch got on the aeroplane with wedding dress packed and ready and all they needed was a venue. They wanted to get married in a real church and on a wine farm and once they saw our beautiful chapel and venue they were hooked. Within a week we put together the loveliest wedding imaginable! From the simple flowers and scrumptious food, this intimate wedding had all the elements of the perfect winelands wedding. Love was all around.
