Vondeling winemaker Matthew Copeland is delighted with the performance of the wines in the first annual Gold Wine Awards.
The competition is convened by Morné de Villiers and Charles Lang and seeks to reward wines that offer excellence at a price point of R70.00 or less. The tasting was conducted “blind” (labels and price out of sight) by a panel of Cape Wine Academy graduate wine professionals and enthusiasts. The results were then statistically linked to the price of the wine to determine which wines scored high on the value scale.
All five wines entered by Vondeling achieved Gold medals!
